Wings of War.. a new obsession.

So.. Dan came over a few weeks ago and gave me a run down on a game he'd bought: Wings of War. The way he explained the game to me it sounded like the kind of thing I'd enjoy, although aviation gaming was not something I'd really though about before. Of course he had bought the WWI version of the game, but I prefer, as far as air warfare goes, WWII. So... I went and bought the game as well as 4 of the minis. 2 Spitfire IIs and 2 Messerschmitt Bf 109s.

Had a game, loved it.

However, I found playing on a table top or a plain green mat boring, so after some inspiration via a couple of Wings of War sites, I made my own mat/board to play on. There is a wings of war mat you can buy, but it's expensive and very 2 dimensional.

This cost me all up about $25 and took maybe 5 hours to paint etc...

I think it's ok.. sure beats playing on a plain old table top hey!

In future installments of the blog.. I've bought an entire Corvus Belli 15mm Late Republican Roman FOG army so when that arrives I'll start painting..

Thanks for looking.

Marcus
